About Myself

Hi Everyone!
My name is Monica and I am in my final term in the MLIS program.
It’s great to end off my degree with this course. I’m looking forward to getting to know you all over the next three months.

I completed my undergrad degree in English Literature at the University of Waterloo.  While at UW, I worked part-time at one of the smaller libraries on campus.  Most of the time I was either managing the circulation desk, shelf reading, photocopying, or placing books back on the shelf.  As bland as this sounds I really enjoyed my experience.  The librarians that I worked with introduced me to several aspects of their jobs and their enthusiasm greatly convinced me to apply to this program.
I took this course because I am not overly familiar with social software.  I have only created one other blog before as a course requirement and I have never used an RSS aggregator. To be honest, I tend to shy away from this format because the process is overwhelming to me and I am somewhat bashful about sharing my thoughts online.  However, I do see the value of communicating online and I hope that this course will provide me with the basics I need to blog with ease and confidence in the future.
